Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain server-side logic and a database and ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front end. You will be responsible for developing scalable software solutions and contributing to all development lifecycle phases.

Your role will include, but not be limited to:

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs to support web and mobile applications.
Optimise and manage databases, ensuring data integrity and efficient access patterns.
Integrate third-party services and APIs into the application.
Write clean, maintainable and reusable code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
Identify, debug, and resolve performance and scalability issues.
Document and maintain software functionality.
Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Collaborate with the engineering team to brainstorm and solve complex problems.
Implement security best practices to protect data and application integrity.
Engage in peer code reviews and enhance code quality.
Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software.
Comply with project plans and industry standards.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, and proactively recommend improvements to technology stack and development process.

Who We’re Looking For:

Seeking a highly motivated individual excited to take on a challenging full-time position exclusively with Intuji.
Proven work experience as a Software Engineer.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Aware of the latest technologies and able to adapt to changes.
Sound knowledge in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) languages.
Proficiency with version control systems, especially Git.
Experience working in an Agile environment.
Experience building complex web systems and applications with high traffic.
Proper experience in Test Driven Development.
Proficiency in languages and frameworks such as PHP, Javascript, Laravel, and Node.js.
Experience in database schema design, query optimisation, and performance tuning.
Experience with Docker and microservices.
Good knowledge of design patterns.
Experience implementing and consuming large-scale web services.
Familiarity with the software development methodology and release procedures.
Ability to work independently and possess an excellent work ethic.
Proficient communication level in written and verbal English.
Must be highly organised and detail-oriented to produce high quality and accuracy.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent leadership skills and team collaboration.
Analytical mind with a problem-solving attitude.
Experience with Frontend technology such as Nextjs and Angular is a plus.
